Bio: Martin Davis is a self-taught artist based in Derbyshire and is inspired by his emotional response to words and the visual effects of light on colour and form, in particular when it creates dramatic contrasts. Martin says, “like a threat running through all of my artwork, is a fascination with the essence and idea of boundaries in visual imagery – and how they divide and define the shapes and forms in the world we see.”
