Junior Valuer

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Junior Valuer to join our friendly team here at Ryedale Auctioneers.

As our business continues to grow and thrive, we have an exciting opportunity for an intelligent, hardworking and committed individual to work within our established North Yorkshire Auction House.

Do you have experience valuing antiques, furniture and collectables within an auction house environment ? Are you looking for a new challenge working with a team with passion for the antique and collectable market?

This new full time position would involve valuing and cataloguing a range of art, furniture, antiques and collectables in preparation for our twice monthly sales.

The ideal candidate will be energetic and personable, with good communication skills. Good attention to detail and the ability to work within a team is essential.

A competitive salary package is offered, based on experience.

Experience:

  • At least 1 years experience as a valuer/ cataloguer within a UK Auction house with antiques, collectibles and furniture

The roles will involve:-

  • Valuation, consignment and cataloguing of items
  • The smooth management of our client's items, throughout the auction process, from consignment to dispatch,
  • The co-ordination of photography and visual material to promote our auctions and best represent our clients items
  • Provision of condition reports

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT Literate, ability to type correspondence
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Be able to work on own initiative and as a member of a busy team
  • Work under pressure in the saleroom environment
  • Quick to learn with drive and determination with the desire to progress within the auction industry.
  • A positive working attitude, who can bend and flex with the needs of a busy auction schedule.

Senior Valuer

Are you looking for a new challenge working with a team with passion for all areas of antiques, furniture, art, militaria and collectables. Do you have a specialism that you are excited to pursue and develop?

This new full time position would involve valuing and cataloguing a range of art, furniture, antiques and collectables in preparation for our twice monthly sales.

The ideal candidate will be energetic and personable, have experience working within an auction house with good communication skills. Good attention to detail and the ability to work within a team is essential.

A competitive salary package is offered, based on experience.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years experience as a valuer/ cataloguer within a UK Auction house with antiques, collectibles and furniture
  • Rostrum experience is not required but is welcomed.

The roles will involve:-

  • Valuation, consignment and cataloguing of items
  • The smooth management of our client's items, throughout the auction process, from consignment to dispatch,
  • The co-ordination of photography and visual material to promote our auctions and best represent our clients items
  • Provision of condition reports
  • Other responsibilities would involve valuations for probate and insurance, client development and other duties before, during and after sales.
  • The position would involve visiting clients throughout the region.
  • Whilst a Specialism is welcomed it is not essential

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities:
