Country House Roundup!

Last week saw the climax of our latest Country House Sale - and what a showstopping event this was! With a huge variety of lots of all types, sizes, shapes and prices, this was always going to be a sale packed with excitement, and the reality certainly didn’t disappoint! To allow you to relive the fun and enjoy the experience, we have put together a roundup of the top five lots that went under the hammer, and found brand new owners in our lucky buyers!

  1. Portrait In The Style of Anthony van Dyck (1559-1641) - Hammer Price £1950

One piece that was snapped up in no time was this extraordinary head and shoulder portrait, that went under the hammer for an impressive £2050. Featuring a stern gentleman, complete with beard and ruff collar rendered in remarkable detail on oil, this was a true masterpiece, framed in an ornate giltwood and gesso frame to finish that “wow” factor. This is sure to be a highlight in the home of the lucky buyer!

 

 

2. Breitling Chronometre Navitmer Model D23322 - Hammer Price £2050

Top of the pile was this stunning Breitling watch, which sold for an impressive £2050 - a price that was still an amazing bargain for the lucky buyer! Crafted from a combination of gold and stainless steel, the sharp, crisp body is perfectly complimented by a sleep black leather strap in that classic Breitling design. Overall, this was a gorgeous example of an automatic chronograph wristwatch that is still in full working order, and a true jewel in the crown of last weeks sale!

 

3. Royal Naval College Dartmouth: The Kings Medal, 1913 - Hammer Price £2050

Another stunning piece, this Kings Medal from the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth was a wonderful addition to the collection of our lucky bidder. With exquisite attention to detail, quality engraving, and a bespoke leather case to protect this treasure, this was a truly wonderful addition to our Country House sale.


 

4. Omega Ladies Wristwatch - Hammer Price £1800

No Country House sale would be complete without beautiful jewellery, and this ladies Omega watch was a truly exquisite piece. Dated to the late 1960’s, this glorious example of horology featured 18ct white gold and diamonds, set off by a stunning Milanese bracelet. An amazing beauty to adorn the wrist of the lucky bidder!
