A huge collection of military antiques and antique arms is set to go under the hammer on day one of Ryedale Auctioneers’ three-day Militaria and Collectables Sale (Thursday 17th/Friday 18th/Saturday 19th October).
Incredibly, over 250 of the guns and other antique weapons that will be sold on the first day of the sale (Thursday 17th October) were consigned from a single vendor, and their collection is expected to make between £100,000 and £150,000.
Auctioneer Angus Ashworth said: ‘We are honoured to have been entrusted to sell this magnificent collection of antique weapons. Collections of this caliber don't often come up for sale. Some items are very rare, and we think there could be a few surprises.’
One of the star lots is a pair of cased French Republic presentation 50 bore (.450) percussion duelling pistols by Geerinckx of Paris, expected to make £15,000-£20,000 plus auction fees (pictured).
The upcoming sale will appeal to a range of collectors, with over 1,400 lots set to go under the hammer:
- Day two of the sale (Friday 18th October) includes coins, books, and memorabilia.
- Day three (Saturday 19th October) includes sections of railwayana, toys, and models.
